Description
The Constitution is the supreme law of the land ordained and established by the people. It is a living and organic thing. Its outlook and expression as perceived and expressed by the interpreters of the Constitution must be dynamic and must keep pace with the changing times. It has established the basic organs of Government describing their structure, composition, powers and functions. It may also regulate relations between different organs of the State. The source of the constitution is the 'people of India' who have enacted, adopted and given this constitution to themselves. Under the scheme of the Constitution of India, the Supreme Court, and the High  Courts are the sole repositories of the power of judicial review. The Parliament and the State Legislaturs, legislate the law for the benefit of the people. It is also well settled that a Constitution must not be construed in any narrow or pedantic sense and that construction which is most beneficial to the widest possible people must be interpreted liberally. On such a living subject, there are distinguished  writers and their books are considered as authoritative books.
