Author Details
Mr. Yeshwanth Shenoy
is a Practicing advocate and was a former Legal Advisor to the National Biodiversity Authority. He was associated with the National Biodiversity Authority from its inception and have been supporting the institution, both officially and unofficially. Many of the policies and procedures of the NBA has imprints of his work.
Mr. Shenoy completed his LL.B in 2001 from SDM Law College Mangalore. He continued his academic pursuit in Mumbai, where be obtained his LL.M in Commercial and Consumer laws with International Business transactions as his specialised subject from Mumbai University. Mr. Shenoy has received several scholarships from various /foreign governments and has in 2004, obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in International Trade law from the University Institute of European Studies and the Training  centre of the International Labour Organisation; in 2005, an LL.M in Intellectual Property Organisation, Geneva; in 2006, a Post Graduate Diploma in Economic law and Competition in European Union from the University Institute of European Studies and Centre for Studies on Federalism.
Mr. Shenoy interned with United Nations Interregional Crime & Justice Research Institute and has worked with some Fortune 500 Companies like Computer Associates, British Telecom and Larsen & Toubro.Mr. Shenoy has co-authored the book "Modern Concepts in Company Law and has several articles published in International and National Journals.
Mr. Shenoy's research interests include Protection of Traditional Knowledge, Biodiversity Conservation, Access and Benefit Sharing laws, Plant Variety Protection, Farmer's Rights etc and he is a regular speaker on these subjects in many national and International Conferences.
